REGULAR MEETING

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

AUGUST 13, 2007

 

Present: Campbell, M. Drenth, Boss, Vollmer, and Skeel.

Absent:  V. Olach, BJ Peters, Matt Peters                                                                                                                               Others:  Janice Drost and Robert Daunter

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:10 p.m.

1.      Motion by Boss/Skeel to accept the July 2007 minutes, with correction, as presented. CARRIED.

 

Public Input:: Janice Drost,  flowers (Mums) to be planted under the new Ellsworth signs.

  a. Seasonal rates for the park for next year.

Police:  Office Daunter gave police report to the Council.

Street:

D.P.W.  

2  Motion by Skeel/Vollmer to replace the 2 control valves in the reducer pit of the water system on Park Street  at the cost of $4740.00 less $1,080.00 for providing second man for confined space. CARRIED. 4- YES / 0 –NO

 

Discussed Items:

a. Donation of property (the old sand pit on Pleasant Hill) by Jerroll and Marilyn Drenth to the Good Samaritan and the rezoning of this property from R1 to PUD in 1999.

b. Community Park, UP Engineers are working on a scaled site plan containing present, grant and future facilities. John Rowe, U.P. Engineers is working on grant to connect the Ellsworth Community Park and the Sports Park with a pathway.

c. The council discussed the Rec. budget that was presented to the Banks Township board.

3.  Motion by Skeel/Boss to purchase $5000.00 prepay of propane from the Ellsworth Farmers Exchange. CARRIED 4Yes / 0 No

4.   Motion by Skeel/Boss to accept the resignation of Matt Peters as a Village Trustee. CARRIED Yes / 0 No

5.   Motion by Skeel/Boss to accept the resignation of BJ Peters as a Village Trustee. CARRIED  Yes / 0 No

6.  Motion by Boss/Skeel to pass the resolution of intent to abandon part of Hardy Street  ROW. See attachment.

7.  Motion by Skeel/Boss to pay the bills. CARRIED 4 Yes / 0 No

8.  Motion by Skeel Vollmer to adjourn. CARRIED   7:35
