BUDGET HEARING

FEBRUARY 12, 2007

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

 

Present: Boss, Olach, J. Skeel and Vollmer.

Absent: Campbell, M. Peters, M. Drenth and BJ Peters 

Others Present: Tom Mann, Robert Daunter Ken Groesser and Max Bolser.

Boss opened hearing at 7:12 p.m.

The Finance Committee presented the 2007-2008 budget.  A short discussion on the budget was held.

Meeting closed at 7:15 p.m.

REGULAR MEETING

FEBRUARY 12, 2007

 Present: Boss, Olach, J. Skeel and Vollmer.

Absent: Campbell, M. Peters, M. Drenth and BJ Peters 

Others Present: Tom Mann, Robert Daunter, Ken Groesser and Max Bolser

Meeting called to order by Boss at 7:15 p.m.

 

1.      Motion by Olach/Skeel to accept the January 2007 minutes as presented. CARRIED.                                                                                                          

 

Public Input: Max Bolser was here representing the MomÕs and TotÕs Center who is looking for housing and/or land for a new and bigger building for the Center and are looking at the property on White St. across from the Ebenezer School that is owned by the Village. A short discussion followed.

Ken Groesser: Cars parking on the sidewalk in front of his rental home on Center St.  Officer Daunter is to take care of the problem.

 

Department Reports

Police:

2. Motion by Skeel/Olach to adopt the Michigan Public Safety Communication System Member Subscriber Agreement. CARRIED 4-0.

            The new high band police radios will be operational in a few months.

 

Streets: 

3. Motion by Olach/Skeel to have the Village pay for the luminous light on the northwest corner of Harris and Center St near the Ellsworth Grocery. CARRIED 4-0.

Planning Commission

4.  Motion by Skeel/Olach to send a copy of the updated draft of the Master Plan to Banks Township and to Antrim County. CARRIED 4-0.

 

Finance Committee:

5.  Motion by Skeel/Olach to approve the 2007/08 budget as presented. CARRIED 4-0 

 

Of Interest: Reviewed the information from John Rowe, U.P.E.A. concerning when the state will release funding for the MNRTF Grant. The appropriations bill has not been sponsored yet for grant funding. Short discussion followed.

 

Discussion Items:

Village Attorneys have raised their rates for municipal clients to $140.00 hr.

 

6. Motion by Olach/Skeel to pay the bills. CARRIED 4-0.

 

7. Motion by Olach/Vollmer to adjourn.  CARRIED 7:55 p.m.
