REGULAR MEETING

 Present: Olach, Rasmussen, Peters, M. Drenth, Boss,  Campbell and BJ Drenth.

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:00 p.m.

1         Motion by Olach/Boss to accept the May 2005 minutes as presented. CARRIED.

Police:   New police car is on the road.

2  Motion by Olach/Rasmussen  to apply for the Well Head protection Grant. CARRIED

Planning Commission:

Parks and Recreation:

Campbell to get information on getting Broad Band Internet service for the Wooden Shoe Park.

3       Motion by Rasmussen/Olach to donate $ 250.00 to the Pig Roast Committee  ( horse pull). Carried.

DPW

4.   Motion by Olach/Boss to summit delinquent water bills to the county to be placed as liens on the summer tax bills ($2918.51). CARRIED  6-0.

Communication Tower:

5       Motion by Campbell/Bj Drenth to allow a communication tower on Village property containing the water tower.  CARRIED. BJ Drenth, Vince Olach, Ron Boss, Hugh Campbell, and Matt Peters YES / Jerry Rasmussen NO

Water Extension on the East Jordan Rd. Short Discussion.  Village to stay with policy of extending water to village residents only.

Dalton & Foles Design has been contracted under the Wellhead Protection Grant to design and construct  a Village Web Site ( 4-6 pages) at a estimated  cost of $ 900.00 to $ 1500.00.

6        Motion by Olach/Bj Drenth let it be resolved that under the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964"No person in the in the Village of Ellsworth shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."
(42 U.S.C. Section 2000d) CARRIED 6 YES/ 0 NO.

7       Motion by Boss/Peters let it be resolved that the Village adopt CAPITALIZATION POLICY #8 (see attachment). CARRIED. 6 YES/ 0 NO

 

DISCUSSED

Audit 2004-2005 is completed.

Bridge replacements final figures are now in.

Main Street Reconstruction: Gosling Czubak have been surveying Main St the last 2 weeks.

Waste Water System information was given on the different options.  The Village is preparing to apply for a Application Grant from the State if/when they become available.

Charlevoix State Bank hopes to open this fall.

Tree Removal/Flowers:  Tree to be replaced at the 4 corners and flowers to be maintained by the village.

      Scoreboards at Sports Park are installed and have been paid for by donations.

       Lower Park Project  permits are in, short discussion.

 

 

8         Motion by  Olach BJ Drenth to pay the bills. CARRIED 7-0.
