VILLAGE OF ELLSWORTH REGULAR MEETING JULY 10, 2006 BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

Present: V. Olach, C. Ruis, M. Peters, M. Drenth, BJ Peters, R. Boss and H. Campbell. Absent: J. Skeel, Others: Blair Coutant, Chuck Fox, Bob Daunter, Art Morris, Tom Mann, Tony Hardy and Janice Drost.

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:15 p.m. 1 Motion by Olach/Ruis to accept the June 2006 minutes . CARRIED. 2 Motion by BJ Peters/Olach to accept the June 22, 2006 Special Meeting minutes as presented. CARRIED.

Public Input: Blair Courant: representing Meadow Book Medical Care Facility, requested support for the renewal of 1 mill for Meadow Book Medical Care Facility. Art Morris: He asked that the yellow center line in the road in front of his home at 9690 Lake St. go to the Village limits, also that the edge of the road be maintained to the village limits and that the speed limit sign (25 mph) be placed at the village limits. A short discussion followed. Chuck Fox: Gave information on a non profit fund to be set aside to support the 2007 fire works show.

Departmental Reports: Police: Office Daunter gave the Police Report. Daunter asked that we consider John Bush as a new police officer, and gave council his resume.

Streets: DPW: . Committee Reports: Planning Commission: At the next meeting they will be going over the final draft on the Master Plan update.

Finance Committee:

Campbell went over the audit with council.

Recreation Committee: Parks : Park revenues is down so far this year a lot of the monthly campers have not returned due to gas prices.

Action Items:

Gosling/Czubak proposal:

  1. Motion by Olach/BJ Peters to retain Gosling/Czubak for the South Main Street Water Extension-Construction Engineering. CARRIED. ( See Attachment)

  2. Street Abandonment: BE IT RESOLVED THAT that portion of Harrison Street consisting of the southern 33 feet portion of Harrison Street that is located along lot 36 (45.4 feet ML), according to the Plat of the Village of Ellsworth, is hereby vacated. It is understood that ownership of the abandoned road will revert to the adjoining property owner who is Ed Petter and Joyce Petter. See Attachment.

  3. Motion by BJ Peters/Olach to pay the bills. CARRIED.

  4. Motion by Ruis/Olach to adjourn. CARRIED.8:05 p.m.
