VILLAGE OF ELLSWORTH COUNCIL MINUTES

REGULAR MEETING

SEPTEMBER 12, 2005

 

Present:  Campbell, M. Drenth, Boss, Olach, BJ Peters, M. Peters and J. Skeel

Absent:  Jerry Rasmussen

Others: Tex Drenth and Bob Daunter

 

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:05 p.m.

1.     Motion by Olach/B. Peters to accept the August 2005 minutes as presented. CARRIED.  6-0

 

Departmental Reports

    Police – Police Car Garage/Storage Area:

a.      Office Daunter to get information on his seabees unit to build the

 storage garage for October meeting.

b.     School Zone speed limit signs: Office Daunter to talk with the school board on what they would like to see have done.

c.     Jake braking in the Village:  Short discussion, no action taken.

Streets:

Discussed replacing Jerry Rasmussen regarding snow removal.

DPW:

The generator is fixed.

Committee / Board Reports

Planning Commission: Reported about a possible land split by Rob Essenberg.                       

Parks and Recreation: Discussion on camping feeÕs; to be acted on at the next meeting.  Discussed giving the Lower Park an official name. Starting September 13 rocks will be placed on the east side of the river per the Soil Conservation Grant.

 

2.   Motion by B. Peters/Boss to accept the resignation of Jerry Rasmussen. CARRIED. 6-0

3.   Motion by Olach/B. Peters to approve the resolution to extend M 32 though Ellsworth. see  attachment.  CARRIED 6-0

4.   Motion by B. Peters/Skeel to get proposals from Engineering Firms for applying for a Rural Development Grant for a Waster Water System.  CARRIED 6-0

5.   Motion by B Peters/Boss to order new Village Limit Signs / Well Head Protection from Dornbos Sign and Safety.

 

Discussion Items:

Water System extension south on Main St. to the Village limits. Discussion

Campbell updated the council on the progress of the new bank.

Discussed the valuations of the NRTF and LWCF Grants by the DNR.  Village resubmitted the applications

Meeting with Joe Little, October 6th  at 10:00 a.m. on the Vulnerability Assessments and Emergency Response for Small Water and Wastewater Systems.

Campbell updated council on the Communication Tower.

Campbell updated council on the Main Street reconstruction.

6.   Motion by B.Peters/Olach to pay the bills. CARRIED.  6-0

7.   Motion to adjourn by Boss/Olach.   8:35  p.m.
