REGULAR MEETING

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

AUGUST 11, 2008

 

Present: Campbell, M. Drenth, Boss, Vollmer, Seese, Rasmussen and Skeel.

Absent:  V. Olach                            Others:   Tex Drenth, Tom Mann and Jeff Kessler

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:10 PM

.

1.      Motion by Skeel/Rasmussen to accept the July 14, 2008 minutes as presented. CARRIED.

 

       2.    Motion by Rasmussen/Skeel to approve the minutes of the July 28, 2008 Special Meeting on the      Bid Package C. as presented.   CARRIED  6-0

 

Public Input

 DEPARMENTAL REPORTS:

   POLICE: 

   STREETS:

   DPW:  Peerless Midwest proposed to install a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for the operation of Well No 2 pump.  It would be installed inside of the well house and wired to replace the existing starter.  This would slow start and slow stop the pump to eliminate the water hammer that is currently noted at the cost of $ 4950.00.

3.   Motion by Rasmussen/Skeel to purchase the (VFD)  at the cost presented by Peerless Midwest. CARRIED  6-0

 The Wooden Shoe Park has been doing well this summer.

d.     Farmers Market every Saturday through the fall 8:00 AM-12:00 PM on the                                   corner of Center and Main Streets.

 e.     Front Porch Restaurant will be opening on Labor Day weekend.

 

ACTION ITEMS:

4.  Motion by Vollmer/Rasmussen to approve the bid from Bud Person of $26,050.00 to erect             the pavilion at the Ellsworth Community Park. CARRIED    6-0

 

5.  Motion by Rasmussen/Skeel to support the resolution  for the Breezeway

      Collaboration Project. CARRIED  6-0

 

      6.  Motion by Skeel/Rasmussen to pay the bills as presented. CARRIED  6-0

 

      7.  Motion by Skeel/Seese to adjourn at 7:35 p.m.  CARRIED.
