REGULAR MEETING

OCTOBER 13, 2008

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

 

Present: Campbell, M. Drenth, Boss, Olach, Rasmussen, Vollmer and Seese.           

Absent:    J. Skeel

Others:   Jeff Kessler, Robert Daunter.

 

Meeting called to order by President Campbell at 7:05 p.m.

1.   Motion by Olach/Rasmussen to accept the September 2008 minutes as presented. CARRIED.  6-0

 

Public Input

 

Departmental Reports

 

a.      Police -- Chief Daunter gave Police report.

b.   DPW – Fire hydrant on Resort Drive, near the John Drenth residence, has been repaired.

c.     Streets –   Scope Asphalt Maintenance presented a proposal for repair of cracks ( hot tar patch) on Center St from Park Street to Lake Street at the cost of $2,400.00..

 

Action Items

2.  Motion by Olach/Boss to have the 2009 rates and fees for Wooden Shoe Park  remain the same as last year.  CARRIED 6-0

 

3. Motion by Boss/Rasmussen for the Wooden Shoe Park attendants for the 2009 camping season  remain Ed and Kris Green. CARRIED 6-0

 

4. Motion by Olach/Vollmer to set the Halloween Hours from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. October 31, 2008. CARRIED 6-0

 

5. Motion by Rasmussen/Boss to approve the proposal for repairing (filling) the cracks on Center St. from Scope Asphalt Maintenance for $2,400. CARRIED   6-0

 

Snow Removal for up town. Tabled until the November 2008 meeting.  Rasmussen to ask Drenth Brothers for a written proposel for the snow removal. 

 

6.  Motion by Boss/Rasmussen to pay Banks Township $ 62.50 ½ for the villageÕs share of the cost of cleaning the office carpet. Carried 6-0

 

Discussion Items:

a.   Community Park Update:  the Archery Range is being built and the permit for the Restrooms/Storage Building is here and the permit for the Pavilion is on its way.

b.   Banners for Street Lamps were discussed.

c.   Nuggetfest October 11:   All donation to go towards the Docks at the Ellsworth Community Park.  Keith Stewart owner of the Gold Nugget present the Village with a check for $2000.00. 

 

7.  Motion  by Rasmussen/Boss to pay the bills. CARRIED 6-0

 

8.  Motion by Boss/Rasmussen to adjourn. CARRIED    7:40 p.m.
