REGULAR MEETING

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

Present: Campbell, Vollmer, Boss, M. Drenth, Rasmussen, Olach, Stewart and M.B. Drenth

Absent: Stewart

Others: Linda Gallagher, John Hastings

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:05 p.m.

1. Motion by Rasmussen/Boss to accept the December 2009 minutes as presented. CARRIED 6-0.

Public:

John Hasting was wanting information on what permits he had to acquire to build a small deck on to his Organ Museum.

Departmental Reports:

Streets: n/a

Planning Commission: No quarm.

Finance Committee:

Wednesday January 12, 2010, 7:00 at the Banks Township Hall to work on a proposed budget for the 2010-11 fiscal year.

Action Items:

3. Motion by Rasmussen/Boss to have the Village Employee’s wages remain the same for 2010/11. CARRIED 6-0

Tex Drenth: - 15.67

Village Employee’s - $11.23

Police - $11.81

Clerk - $11,920.00

Treasurer - $3,363.62

Budget Amendments:

4. Motion by Boss/ Olach to amend the 2009/10 budget as follows: CARRIED 6-0

Community and Culture:

Increase Operating Supplies (774-72700) $233 from $200 to $433.

Increase Festival (774-72800) $724 from $1000 to $1724.

Increase Other Expenses (774-94700) 774-94700) $286 from $1000 to 1286.

Debt Service:

Increase Principal Payment – St Lamps (905-99010) $37,726.70 from $0 to $37,726.70.

5. Motion by Rasmussen/ M.B. Drenth to make available (at no cost to Banks Township) the Village backhoe for the Township cleanup day May 9^th 2010. CARRIED 6-0.

6. Resolution was made by Olach/Rasmussen to reduce the Planning Commission from 7 members to 5 members. CARRIED. 6-0 See Ordinance #19

7. Resolution was made by Boss/Vollmer to appoint Vince Olach (2010 Jerry Klooster (2010) Greg Strange (2010) Al. Drenth (2012) and Larry Essenberg (2012) as the new Planning Commission members. CARRIED 6-0

8. Resolution was made by Rasmussen/Olach to join the NLEA - (Northern Lake Economic Alliance) upon Banks Township joining also and splitting the Cost.

9. Motion by Rasmussen/Boss to accept the letter of November 10, 2009 from Ellsworth Farmers Exchange rescinding their offer to purchase .404 acres from the Village for the amount of $4000.

Discussion:

a. The Community Park Project has passed the DNR’s final inspection.

b. Summer Recreation Director, Will discuss at the February meeting.

c. Holiday Fest, all had a great time.

7. Motion by Rasmussen/Boss to pay the bills as presented. CARRIED 5-0

8. Motion by Olach/Boss to adjourn. 7:55 P.M.
