Absent: Marlene Drenth.

Others:  Chris and Jessica Tracy

Meeting called to order by Chairman Campbell at 7:00 p.m.

1.  Motion by Boss/Rasmussen to appoint:

Chairman: Hugh Campbell

Vice Chairman: Robert Vollmer

Secretary: Hellen Allen

2.  Motion by Boss Rasmussen to adjourn 7:05.  CARRIED

REGULAR MEETING

 Present:   M.B. Drenth, Boss, Campbell, Stewart, Rasmussen, Nickel and Vollmer

Absent:  M. Drenth.

Others: Chris and Jessica Tracy.           

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:05 p.m.

 

1.   Motion by Boss/Vollmer to accept the May 2010 regular meeting minutes as presented.   CARRIED 7-0

 

2.  Motion by Drenth/Stewart to appoint Erin Nickel to fill the vacant position on the Board.  Yes:  Campbell, Boss, Rasmussen, Vollmer, Drenth, and Stewart.  No. 0

 

Public Input:

Chris and Jessica Tracy reintroduced themselves to the council as the new owners of the Ellsworth Market, they will be opening on or before September 2010 and looking forward to serving the community again.

COMMITTEES:

A.     Planning Commission: 

                  Louis Holm: Wanting to sell his property at 9709 Main St. Ellsworth.                   Campbell gave him information on the zoning in the Village.            

B.    Parks and Recreation:  The Wooden Shoe Park is open with Ed and Kris                   Green as park attendance this year.

 

 

 

 

DISCUSSED:

 

a.  Sports Park: Campbell and Drenth ball field signs to be updated by Jerroll                   Drenth. 

b.    Judy Worgess: Thanks to Judy Worgess for planting the flower boxes in the          village this year.

 c. Chet Drenth: Thanks for your contribution in beatifying the Village  

   

            d.    Campbell updated Council on the Breezeway Cruise Thursday June 18

                                   starting at Boyne Mt. and cruising  the Breezeway (C48) through East                                                      Jordan, Ellsworth, and Atwood to Friskies Market for dinner.. 

 

                  e.    Farmers Market to open Saturday, June 19 the day of the Pig Roast on the                                            corner of Center and Main  St.

 

3.    Motion by Stewart/Vollmer to authorize the Clerk to issue a check for                   $1,000.00 to St. Claire Lake Fire Works as budgeted in the 2010-2011                   budget. Carried:  7-0

                  The fire works will be held on July 3rd on Lake Sinclair starting at dusk.

 

 f. The Village is to get a budget bid for the replacement of the sidewalk in front of the Sue Gardeners residence 6541 Center St.       

                    

                  g.    Discussed the bill from Magnum Electric for electrical work on the new                                           concession stand at the sports park  

                                                                                                       

             4. Motion by Boss/M.B. Drenth to summit delinquent water bills to the county to  

                  be placed as liens on the summer tax bills ($ 2,911.29) CARRIED                                                           Yes:  7      No:  0

 

5.   Motion by Vollmer/Boss to pay the bills as presented.  CARRIED 7-0

 

6.   Motion by Vollmer/Boss to adjourn.  8:40 pm
