REGULAR MEETING

OCTOBER 10, 2005

BANKS TOWNSHIP HALL

 

 

Present: Campbell, M. Drenth, Boss, Olach, J. Skeel, M. Peters and BJ Peters.

Others: Tex Drenth

 

Meeting called to order by Campbell at 7:10 p.m.

 

1.     Motion by Olach/Skeel to accept the September 2005 minutes as presented. CARRIED.  6-0

 

Public Input:

Police:  Chief Daunter was unable to attend but gave the estimates on the addition to the DPW garage. 32Õx48Õ at the cost of  $ 10,238.00.  This did not cover floor and electrical.

2.     Motion by Olach/BJ Peters to have Gosling Czubak draw up engineering plans for the replacement of the water main on Main Street from Lincoln to just past Ash St.. CARRIED. 6-0

 

D.P.W.  D.P.W. Vulnerability Assessment for Drinking Water System. Tex Drenth and Hugh Campbell are working on completing the form.

3.     Motion by Olach/Boss to purchase a new snow blower for the 4115 John Deere tractor w/ the cost not to exceed $ 4000.00. CARRIED.  6/0

Planning Commission: Rob EssenbergÕs lot split request will be revisited by the Planning Commission.

Communications Tower: still working on permits.

 

Parks and Recreation: No camping fee changes for the 2006 camping season.

4.     Motion by Olach/M. Peters to have Ed and Kris Green for the Wooden Shoe Park attendants for the 2006 camping season. CARRIED.  6/0

 

5.     Motion by B. Peters/Skeel to get a proposal from MC Planning to write a grant from Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs for 10 new lamp poles, from Maple Street to Hardy Street at the estimated cost of $3500.00 per pole. CARRIED.  6/0

 

6.     Motion by B. Peters/Boss to have Halloween Hours 5 to 8 p.m. Monday October 31st CARRIED.

 

7.     Motion by Boss/M. Peters to donate $ 250.00 for the first Fall Fest, From Arts and Culture account and to support it in the future.  CARRIED. 6/0

 

8.     Motion by B. Peters/Skeel to hire Jerry Rasmussen to remove snow this winter as he has in the past at the rate of  $ 14.38 per hr.  CARRIED.

 

9.     Motion by B. Peters/Boss to have Cindy Ruis fill the vacant trustee position. CARRIED. 6/0

 

10.   Motion by B Peters/Olach to change next months regular meeting from November 14 to November 7, 2005.  CARRIED.  6/0

 

11.   Motion by B. Peters/Skeel to pay the bills. CARRIED. 6/0

 

12.   Motion to adjourn by B. Peters/Skeel. CARRIED.  6/0
